On June 10, 2010, Mr. Virachai Virameteekul , Minister of Science and Technology discussed with executives of the Ministry and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) on process to drive 4 main policies :
1) Propose activities to support the Royal projects
2) Focus on the use of science to strengthen capabilities of local communities
3) Utilize science, technology and innovation to increase national competitiveness
4) Support science activities for children and youth.

On June 18, 2010, Mr. Virachai Virameteekul, Minister of Science and Technology preside over the opening ceremony of the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Office (STI) located on Level 14, Jaturat Jamjuree Building. The Minister highlighted tasks of STI with initiatives to exploit technology and innovation to serve creative ideas towards innovation ; environment conservation and sustainable natural resource management.

 

The National Innovation Award 2010

On June 14, 2010 at Siam City Hotel, Mr. Virachai Virameteekul, Minister of Science and Technology and Mr. Kosit Punpiemrat Chairman of the National Innovation Award Committee presided over a press conference announcing “ The National Innovation Award 2010. The program invites Thai entrepreneurs to submit their innovative product to the competition. Grants of up to 1,000,000 baht will be given to the winners. The Top prize in each category receive also include the image of King Rama IV as “The Farther of Thailand’s Innovation.” and certificate. The honourable awards support the creative innovator will develop long term benefits to social and economic development of the country . The programme is a catalyst to raise “ innovative culture” in their organizations.
