National synchrotron Research Center (NSRC)

The Siam Photon Laboratory was assigned by the Government in 1996 with the task of developing the Siam Photon Source, based on a 1.0 GeV Synchrotron which had been donated by the SORTEC Corporation, Japan. The Siam Photon Laboratory is run by the national Synchrotron Research Center (NSRC), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, and is located at the Suranaree University of Technology campus, Nakhorn Ratchasima. The main purpose of the National Synchrotron Research Center is to enable high technology transfer from Japan to Thailand and to support countrywide scientific research such as bisic science, chemistry, biochemistry, etc, including its adaptation to the industrial field.

Functions
1. NSRC will be organized to promote synchrotron radiation research, promote and support all relevant activities from private and government sectors in Thailand.
2. To support for synchrotron light using, NSRC will be a central facility to prepare materials for photoemission experiments. The facility will be utilized by in-house researchers and researchers from outside laboratories and university in Thailand and world-wide.
3. To support siam photon light research and technologies transfer.

Organization structure
1. Administration Division
2. Accelerator Division
3. Beamline Division
4. Technical Support Division
