| National synchrotron Research Center (NSRC) The Siam Photon Laboratory was assigned by the Government in 1996 with the task of developing the Siam Photon Source, based on a 1.0 GeV Synchrotron which had been donated by the SORTEC Corporation, Japan. The Siam Photon Laboratory is run by the national Synchrotron Research Center (NSRC), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, and is located at the Suranaree University of Technology campus, Nakhorn Ratchasima. The main purpose of the National Synchrotron Research Center is to enable high technology transfer from Japan to Thailand and to support countrywide scientific research such as bisic science, chemistry, biochemistry, etc, including its adaptation to the industrial field.
