Dr. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Minister of Science and Technology, chaired the opening “The 4th Nuclear Science and Technology Learning Center Development Project 2009” on 4 September 2009, at Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Lampang. The project is the cooperation between Office of Atoms for Peace and Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Lampang, aiming to provide knowledge and understanding on nuclear energy and radiology to the youth, teachers, academics and people in Lampang.
 

Outstanding Scientist Award and the Young Scientist Award 2010

On August 18, 2010 at Siam City Hotel,   Dr. Virachai Virameteekul  , Minister of Science and Technology  chaired a dinner reception to recognize the achievement of recipients of 2010 annual  awards – the Outstanding Scientist Award  and the Young Scientist Award.   Prof. Dr. Yongyuth Yuthavong, Former Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Suchinda Chotipanich Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Science and Technoloogy, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yodhathai Thebtaranonth Chairman of the Award Committee also attended the celebration.  The dinner reception was organized by The Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Technology, and the Science Society of Thailand Under the Protonage of His Majesty the King.

iTAP Isan (North Eastern) Big Impact

Dr. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Minister of Science and Technology, chaired the opening ceremony “iTAP Isan (North Eastern) Big Impact” on 7 September 2009 at Suranaree Grand Ballroom, Dusit Princess Hotel, Nakonratchasima. iTAP Northeastern Network will strengthen SMEs and coordinate cooperation among educational institutes that apply science and technology to improve and develop business sectors, as well as enhance competitiveness which will substantially contribute to the economic development.
 

Mr. Virachai Virameteekul discussed with executives of the Ministry and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) on process to drive 4 main policies

On June 10, 2010, Mr. Virachai Virameteekul , Minister of Science and Technology discussed with executives of the Ministry and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) on process to drive 4 main policies :
1) Propose activities to support the Royal projects
2) Focus on the use of science to strengthen capabilities of local communities
3) Utilize science, technology and innovation to increase national competitiveness
4) Support science activities for children and youth.

9 Nai Duang Jai

On 9 September 2009, at 09.09 hrs,  Mr. Weerapong Pairsuwan, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology , and executives, officials and staff of  Ministry of Science and Technology,  participated in   “9  Nai Duang Jai ” (Nine in the Heart)  , singing songs in praise of His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of  His Majesty the King’s   82th Birthday Anniversary  on this coming  5 December 2009,  together with  Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister, and Thai people throughout the  country, at the main hall, 1st floor,  Phra Chom  Klao Building.
