National Institute of Metrology (Thailand)(NIMT)In 1995, The Cabinet has assigned Department of Science Sevice (DSS) with a duty to develop the country's metrology work through the Metrology Development Program (MDP). After that, in 1997, the Parliament then passed National Metrological System Development Act, B.E.2540. By this act, is stipulates that the metrological works of DSS and Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) be transferred to National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (MINT). NIMT, established in accordance with the Act, is a public agency under the MOSTE supervision. The Board of the National Metrology oversees the Institute's policies and regulations. The Institute, which is temporarily located in the DSS Metrology Building, Started its operations on June 1, 1998. Upon start of operation, the Institute has improved the environmental conditions of its laboratories to be in conformity with the international standards. Moreover, it has improved its administration office to be convenient for the calibration services. NIMT started providing the services on January 4, 1999 Functions : Organization Structure : |
